6 Unsettling Facts about Pet Food

A reader sent me this link about pet food. If you are a pet owner who loves their companion like I love my little Briar, you may want to take a few minutes to read this article from Probiotic Smart.

Briar's predecessor, Kit, had gotten sick a couple of times. The vet said it was probably his diet as many pets were getting sick from the pet food contamination. I did some research and found some home made pet food recipies and started making batches of food for Kit. It was like making dinner for your kid, time consuming and sometimes he wouldn't eat it (not to mention feeling ridiculous for making dinner for my cat). Since then, I discovered the raw diets you can buy at specialty pet food stores.

Briar's two daily meals consist of 1/5 Weruva (for a little flavor) and 4/5 Rad Cat Raw Food (chicken or turkey).

For treats he gets Stella & Chewy's Duck Treats, Pure Bites Freeze Dried Chicken, and Cat Man Doo Extra Large Bonito Flakes.

I pick up all his goods at The Raw Connection in Carmel, CA.

Kitty in heat

This little kitten has been hanging around Briar the last couple days. I think she's in heat and wants his attention, but he's not interested.

Briar Opens Doors

Message from Molly:

"The other night I let Briar out at night, and left my closet window open in case he wanted to go and sleep in my closet, around 430 in the morning I heard my closet door jiggling, knowing that the house is over 100 years old I assumed it was a ghost. Then my door opened and I heard the distinct noise of something climbing up the ladder to my bed, at this point I am certain a ghost is going to kill me and bring me back to his ghost lair, but instead I am greeted by the soft fur of Briar on my face and we snuggled all through the night. It was quite romantic."

Hehehe a Briar Ghost. lol
